It s likely to grab your child s attention. This is a sweet book for both girls and boys. While being pretty to look at this is also informative for both children and adults It s a short story about a newbornEmperor Penguin and his life The information is presented in a story like way that is a quick but funread I especially like the author s note at the end whichexpounds on the facts about emperor penguins. This is an amazing, beautiful book It tells the story of a penguin chick from hatchling to adult It is told in a very dramatic manner, story like and is easy to follow The illustrations are beautiful and capture the qualities, growth and activity of this lovely animal The last page provides lots of facts and additional information The story is full of facts, too and makes it seem like a hybrid between a non fiction and story book without overwhelming the reader with a pile of facts I loved it This one is great for a penguin unit Highly recommended for Gr K 5. This is an adorable and fascinating look at the life of an Emperor penguin in Antarctica The illustrations are terrific and the narrative is short, factual and not overwhelming with details I love that the story is educational without being boring We really enjoyed reading this story together. Unfortunately, I can t remember much about this, sso I think we d better re read it Little Emperor Little Penguin The Emperor of Antarctica is a wonderful book about the emperor penguins The illustrations are colorful, not overly detailed but charming nonetheless The story is told very well, not talking down to children There are some areas that bring up questions but the author has put a section at the back of the book to help answer those questions making Mom or Dad or whoever look really smart. There is one section that has a leopard seal that could be a little scary for youngsters but everything turns out fine danger averted. If you or your children liked the movies Happy Feet or March of the Penguins, you should like this little gem of a book or vice versa. Very informative picture book.
